Summer is here which means it’s time for one of our favorite Chicago past times – festivals! We love getting out to the various different neighborhoods and fests to eat, drink, and Dabble in something new! Below are just a few choice picks courtesy of Do312 (you can see their complete list here). Heading out to one of these great fests? 1. Do Division

When: Friday, June 2 5:00 pm – Sunday, June 4 10:00 pm
Where: Divison and Damen

Chicago’s quintessential summer street festival is also one of the first of the season. Now in its 11th year, Do Division Street Fest & Sidewalk Sale is set to rock West Town June 2 – 4 with the return of over 10 blocks of local food, shopping, art and of course, electrifying live tunes on Division between Damen and Leavitt. 2017’s blacktop bash includes two fests-within-a-fest; the Family Fun Fest and Do Fashion Fest, in addition to a multi-block sidewalk sale, crafts, artisans and lots of ice cold beer and local eats.

2. Chicago Blues Festival

When: Friday, June 9 – Sunday, June 11 12:00 pm
Where: Millenium Park

The Chicago Blues Festival is the largest free blues festival in the world and remains the largest of Chicago’s Music Festivals. During three days on five stages, more than 500,000 blues fans prove that Chicago is the “Blues Capital of the World.” Past performers include Bonnie Raitt, Ray Charles, B.B. King, the late Bo Diddley, Buddy Guy and the late Koko Taylor.

3. 19th Annual Rib Fest

When: Friday, June 9 5:00 pm – Sunday, June 11 10:00 pm
Where: Lincoln Avenue between Irving Park and Berteau

Chicago’s favorite food and music fest lights it up with the coolest bands and hottest barbecue to celebrate its nineteenth summer this year. Chicago’s first rib festival started in 1999 from humble beginnings in a north side parking lot and eventually grew from 5,000 attendees to 70,000 fans in 2014 – the year it was televised to 100 million households and 150 countries on the Food Network’s “Eating America with Anthony Anderson.” As a nationally-recognized music festival featuring top local and touring acts, twenty bands make up a tasty blend of indie, pop, rock, indie roots and alt country for one of the hottest original lineups in the city.

4. Andersonville Midsommarfest

When: Friday, June 9 5:00 pm – Sunday, June 11 10:00 pm
Where: Foster and Clark

One of Chicago’s most legendary street festivals and Andersonville’s quintessential yearly celebration, Andersonville Midsommarfest, returns for its 52nd year in 2017. The yearly event, which, according to ChicagoPride, will “help kick off the Chicago summer neighborhood street festival season” will gather enthusiastic Chicagoans for a weekend filled with tangy international food, energetic entertainment, exclusive artisans and vendors, and a family-friendly array of interactive activities. Midsommarfest is one of the most diverse festivals in Chicago. There is really something for everyone at this must-attend festivity.

5. Logan Square Arts Fest

When: Friday, June 23 5:00 pm – Sunday, June 25 10:00 pm
Where: Logan Square Monument

Join us in the Logan Square circle for live music, art, crafts, comedy, kids activities, putt putt golf and more! With beer from Revolution Brewing, cocktails from The Whistler, sangria from Lula Cafe, coffee from Dark Matter Coffee, and food from The Harding Tavern and other local restaurants.

6. Square Roots Festival

When: Friday, July 7 5:00 pm – Sunday, July 9 9:00 pm
Where: Lincoln Square

The Old Town School of Folk Music and the Lincoln Square Ravenswood Chamber of Commerce’s craft beer and music experience in Chicago’s Lincoln Square is right around the corner. Expect multiple music stages, both inside the Old Town School and outside on Lincoln Avenue, programmed with a vibrant mix of performers from local indie rockers to world music stars to Old Town School teaching artists and students, paired with the best local and regional craft breweries offering a wide variety of beers. Explore all the Old Town School of Folk Music has to offer: concerts, classes, jams, and more! Dine on amazing food from choice restaurants in Lincoln Square. 7. Volleywood

When: Saturday, July 15 12:00 pm
Where: North Avenue Beach

Volleywood featuring Corona Electric Beach is back Saturday, July 15th at North Avenue Beach, and it’s going to be bigger and better than ever. This all day blowout will feature some of the most talented DJ names in the music industry. With a huge 70,000 square foot beer garden, a VIP lougne and Cabanas, it’s going to be a summer experience unlike any other.

8. Chicago Craft Beer Festival

When: Saturday, July 22 – Sunday, July 23 10:00 pm
Where: Trebes Park

Windy City brew lovers will again be in taste heaven when Chicago Craft Beer Fest returns for its 6th glorious year to new digs in the Lincoln Park/DePaul neighborhood: the relaxing urban green space known as Trebes Park. Highlights include daily afternoon tastings where visitors who purchase a pass can sample from a pool of more than 70 specialty beers lovingly crafted by 35-plus local and national breweries. Tasting ticket holders are also encouraged to savor the day after the tastings to enjoy the great music acts and more as Craft Beer Fest is again being held at the same footprint location as the iconic Sheffield Music Festival & Garden Walk that celebrates its 49th year in 2017.

9. Wicker Park Fest

When: Saturday, July 29 – Sunday, July 30 12:00 pm
Where: Milwaukee and Damen

The festival that Chicago magazine and Chicago Tribune have each called “best” of the season returns for its 14th year July 29th and 30th (on Milwaukee Ave from North Ave to Paulina St). Always one of the most anticipated summer events, Wicker Park Fest attracts visitors from across the region with its stellar music line-up and homage to the beloved Wicker Park neighborhood. Chicago’s longest (in terms of length) two-day neighborhood festival reflects Wicker Park’s rich musical heritage, vibrant nightlife and hot culinary scene. Today, the bookers at Subterranean announced wave 1 of 40 artists performing at Wicker Park Fest 2017.

10. Northalsted Market Days

Northalsted Market Days is the largest outdoor street festival in the Midwest! Famous for its vast array of national talent, unique vendors, arts, crafts, food and drink, Northalsted Market Days gathers a crowd of over 180,000 people from across the globe to celebrate on Halsted Street. Celebrating its 36th anniversary, Northalsted Market Days 2017 will take over Chicago’s Boystown neighborhood on August 12-13!
