She often finds she has an excuse to not try something new – “it looks too hard”, “it’s probably too expensive”, “I don’t know where to start.” Brittney found the perfect solution in Dabble because it lowers the barriers to entry – classes are for novices, the cost is low, & the helpful teachers.

“I’ve always loved making stationery – I’ve even taken a number of other Dabble classes on the subject. The Mix & Mailology class intrigued me because not only am I always game for a delicious cocktail, but I’ve seen the Letter Writers Alliance (LWA) at events around Chicago and have always wanted to know about the organization.
We gathered at the LWA lab, where founders Kathy and Donovan had prepared snacks and hot toddy ingredients for our small but enthusiastic group. After walking us through making hot toddies, Kathy impressed us with her crafty brilliance: she showed us how to use packaging from the ingredients in the hot toddies to make upcycled envelopes. We finished the class by writing letters to include in those handmade envelopes. Awesome, right?
I had a great time drinking and crafting with an intimate group of women who loved letter writing and a good cocktail, as much asI did. The class was the perfect relaxing compliment to the beautiful, Sunday weather in Chicago the day of the class.”
