Brought to you by PureWow, we bring you this great list of the top things Chicagoans will wait for.

Nobody can say Chicagoans are impatient. Every year, we weather out brutal winters and cruel springs for the grand prize: summer. And if we need to–like, if the doughnuts are really, really good–we’ll patiently wait for other things. Behold the list of Chicago attractions that folks willingly line up for.

1.) GARRETT POPCORN

Before you object, can you honestly say you’ve never waited for the so-sweet/so-salty Chicago mix? Not even when your cousin from Kansas was in town?

2.) SWEETS

We’re not sure if it’s tourists, locals or both, but Sprinkles cupcake bakery always has a line. And even seasoned foodies will cop to waiting for the glazed goodness that comes out of Doughnut Vault’s window.

3.) GILT CITY’S WAREHOUSE SALE

When there are 80 percent discounts to be had on goods from Lanvin, Tom Ford and Balenciaga, we can be patient. (Kind of.)

4.) THEATER

We love our drama and our comedy, and we adore our signature shows. Need proof? Check out the line that forms for tickets to the Neo-Futurists’ Too Much Light Makes the Baby Go Blind.

5.) CONCERTS AT ARAGON BALLROOM

Lines for shows at this too-quirky-to-believe ballroom snake around the block. (Actually, several blocks.) But best work on your stamina now: Alabama Shakes is coming in July.

6.) BRUNCH

No one makes a Chile Verde Bloody Mary like Flo. And the Sunday Omelette at Gather? Forget it. Let’s face the facts: If you want some awesome grub in Chicago on a weekend morning, you’ll have to wait.

7.) HALF ACRE’S BREWERY TOURS

On Saturday mornings, you can get a behind-the-scenes peek at all the sudsy action at the Lincoln Avenue brewery. (You’ll also get three samples. Cheers.) Just be sure to arrive early. You’re not the only one in Chicago who wants a brewski.

8.) PITCHFORK

We take our music festivals seriously. (Lollapalooza doesn’t call Chicago home for nothing.) So when Carly Rae Jepsen–and very cute hipster dudes–are on the other side of the Union Park fence, fine. We’ll wait.

9.) EXCELLENT WINE

Think our music fests are good? You should see Chicago Gourmet (and Chicago Food + Wine). And you’ll have plenty of time to look around while standing in one of the 30-deep lines for wine.

10.) AQUATIC CUTENESS

Have you seen the weekend lines on the museum campus? Whether it’s for their amazing Jazzin’ at the Shedd events or new faces (like the recently rescued baby sea otter, Ellie), the line at Shedd Aquarium is worth the wait. Just look at that face!
